The following form serves the capacity of informing the Freestyle Disc Hall of Fame (FDHOF) Committee as to the value of an individual candidate. The nomination window will be from February 19th to March 30th 2018. The nominations will then be vetted by the committee with the inductees being announced by May 15th, 2018. The location of the induction ceremony is still to be determined. This wave of nominations are for individuals who began playing in 1978 or prior.
We are still tallying the final amount, in the meantime, we want to thank all who helped raise the funds for this year’s recipient!
And thank you to all who helped with translating the application into many of the languages that represent freestyle frisbee (Elad Kahalon, Benedicte Audet, Juan David Rivera, Kuba Opaluch, Toby Künzel)
Dear FPA Members and peeps,
We have very exciting news to share!
Since Edo and I started, one of our main goals was to build up the team of board members and the teams surrounding them in order to share the workload and gain more professionalism. Especially since we already have very skilled people in our community.
In the last year, it has not been easy to find the right person to entrust with the position of IT Director. However, now, we feel we have found the right fit. Today we proudly introduce that the FPA board has appointed Andre Zaharias as our new IT Director. Andre will be leading our current IT volunteers.
Andre lives in Munich and is a stable member of the jam community. He is a well known traveler and competitor at freestyle tournaments as well. But also important for us today, he is an IT specialist with project management skills. Andre is full of initiative and has already started leading the team.
Here’s the list of the current IT team: Andre – FPA IT Director and web developer Michal – server Larry – database Ryan – database, judging system, and ranking/rating Katy – database Mateusz – web developer Jonathan – web developer Oren – software architect
Big shout out to Andre and the whole IT team!
For those of you who would also like to contribute, the FPA still needs more support. We are especially in need of a Microsoft 365 Administrator. Feel free to reach out to us if you are interested.
Andre can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org from now on.
Cheers, Freddy and Edo
Until the end of January 2023, we collected graphic designs as part of the renewed Disc Design Contest. The winning design will be used on this year’s FPA Skystyler and 100-molds.
We received a total of 8 unique designs from 4 different artists (Kevin Fuller, Oliver Peters, Raphael Legrand, Kuba Opaluch) – many thanks for your submissions, we greatly appreciate your effort.
You can see all the designs in the gallery below. Only active FPA members can vote for the winner. If you are one of them, check your email for the voting form.
Voting will run until Monday, February 27. Until then, you have a chance to renew your membership and participate in voting.
No question, regardless of any politics.
Without a doubt!
Gerry “Circus” Lynas has been running disc events, designing discs, logo’s, promotional materials and more, since disc’s earliest days! He designed the original FPA Logo.
John Jewell, one of the great west coast players. Iconic beach jammer. Very deserving.
Johnny Dwork sounds good to me, too.
Bill Wright, Skippy Jammer (a.k.a. Kevin Givens), FPA would not have existed without these two!! And they both run superb events!
People doing show for decades have done as much or more to promote the sport as people involved in tournaments. Jay Moldenhauer has been doing shows and turning tens of thousands of people on to freestyle and disc sports with Flying Aces since the late 70’s. He is also the 2 time world Footbag champ and a member of the Footbag HOF.
I recognize a lot of these names and have many great memories! joey remember the trip to colorado in your van
matt roberts told me about this website and he (and brian) are also well deserved nominees !!!
