    As the initial flourish of skill and ambition began to crest in the late 1970’s the sport of Freestyle was looking for a new direction to go. Enter Evan David. He was the perfect combination of athlete, dancer and artist. He was dazzling to watch, always focused on form as well as function. His impact on the sport cannot be over-stated. At the time, the late 1970’s had two distinct camps, the East Coast style of quick punchy moves and high difficulty. And the West Coast style of wind skill and control. Evan quickly mastered all of those techniques and reintroduced them as a composite skill. The Coloradicals in particular cite Evan’s vision of Freestyle play as a central point in their development.

    Originally started playing at Santa Barbara High School with Craig Smith. Later was recruited to the United Flyers of Sonoma while attending Sonoma State University
